In the name of Allah,
most gracious, most merciful.
I went to Jurong West library to find a book about thermodynamics. Bala, my supervisor, gave me an assignment. he wanted me to write up a pictorial and word document on how air cooler works. sounds easy right? hell no. i searched the web, nothing. not even a detailed explanation on webster thingy. should try again. i searched the nlb web before heading there, making sure there is at least an availability on such books.
i went there and ive got nothing. not even CLOSE to how the marine air cooler works. the process, definitions and etc. so how am i gg to do the assignment? Only God knows how. -_-”. ill brainstorm later.
nonetheless, i borrowed a ‘i-think-it-is-fantastic’ book. i’m sure those who is interested in design of world, physics, literature would LOVE this book. okay. i’m talking about me.
but heck, i bet u prolly would too. because, the summary stated:-
” From the sudden expansion of a cloud of gas or the cooling of a hot metal, to the unfolding of a thought in our minds and even the course of life itself, everything is governed by the four laws of Thermodynamics. These laws specify the nature of ‘energy’ and ‘temperature’, and are soon revealed to reach out and define the arrow of time itself: why things change and why death must come.
in succinct individual chapters, Peter Atkins, explains the basis and deeper implications of each law, drawing out their precision, clarity and beauty. using minumum of mathemarics, he guides the reader through concepts such an entropy, free energy, and to the brink and beyond of the absolute zero of temperature. yet these are not merely abstract ideas: they govern our livs. The unstopable rise of entropy explains why your desk tends to get messier and why the Universe must one day die – an outcome of the iconic Second Law which C.P snow famously argued should be familiar to any educated person as the works of shakespeare.
In this concise and compelling introduction, Atkins takes a direct, and at times novel approach to this central topic of science and paints a lucid picture of the four elegant laws that, between then, drive the Universe.”
Book Title: Four Laws that drives the universe
Author: Peter Atkins.
//i think..I THINK..this book might just be better than Paulo Coelho, if not, Equal.
and i tell u, i will be super super shock, if this Peter Atkins is not a muslim.
oh ya, Aishah said Men and Women is equal now. and im guessing, if not today, then, they should.
well, i say, they are not and never will be equal. because, if they were,
women would have been the voice of an azhan during the prayers at mosques.
why must the man who should provide nafkah if man and woman are equal?
why must the man lead the prayer if they both are equal?
man and woman are halves of each other. but nt equal in status because man, by nature carries more responsibility than woman in terms of general. they are not equal in status because both of their weaknesses and strength. however, woman is held in a very high status nonetheless. so close, when the husband is leading the prayer with his wife, the wife is just a feet away from him.
